Kent Park

     On Friday, after we finished our classes, my group and I went to Hy-Vee supermarket. We bought charcoal, chicken wings, sausages, beef, and some drinks. Then, we agreed to meet at UCC on Saturday at 11:30 am. On Saturday, we met there at the same time, and we went to the Kent Park by Aurora’s car. We used google maps to get there, but we took wrong way, so it took long time to be in the park. When we arrived there, we took our stuff from the car. Then, we walked down to the lake, and we saw few people there do fishing. It was amazing down there. The weather was good, but it was little cold. After that, we tried to fire the charcoal. It was little hard, but we made it. Then, we did the barbecue. The food’s taste was very good. After we finished eating, we cleaned the place, and took our stuff to the car. Finally, we went back to the UCC. The picnic was enjoyable. I really think to go there again before the winter start.

     Last weekend, our group went to the Kent Park. Although we use the Google map, it was also hard for us to find it. Maybe I need to improve my drive skill. But it is wonderful trip for us. We were eating delicious BBQ while we were enjoying beautiful lake and beach. Before we went to the trip, we prepared food materials, such as chicken wings, pork chop, sausage and corn. First, we put charcoal on the grill. After grill pretty hot, it is time for cooking food. Second, brush some oil on the grill and meat. Put the meat on the grill. After a few minutes, turn the meat over, grill to another side. At the same time, put salt and pepper on each sides. Finally, check the meat. Use barbecue tong to pierce the meat. If the meat is properly cooked, you can enjoy your lunch. Kent Park is pretty good place for trip with your friends. I had a good time with my group all the time, but it is the last time to do activities together.

     This weekend, we went to the Kent Park with my group members. We bought some food on Friday after class. This park was too far, so we drove a car. First of all, the environment in this place was very comfortable. For example, there were a lot of beautiful plants and grass in this park. It was very quiet. We found a good location where was near the beach. I could see people go fishing. We wanted to have a picnic in this park. I remembered it was very difficult for us to start a fire because of no wind on that day, but we worked together hardly. At last, we succeeded in starting a fire. We took our food and put all kinds of meat on the gridiron. The food tasted delicious. We all enjoyed the relaxation. By contrast, the park in China is not very comfortable. As you know, the park in China have a lot of people. It is not quiet for people to read books or take a breath, especially in holiday. In addition, it also have a difference that this park is not allowed to have a barbecue. Because it is illegal and very dangerous. In conclusion, Kent Park is different from my country’s park. I like it so much.

     Our group members went to the Kent Park on October 3rd, 2015. When I arrived there, it looked very countryside park in Iowa. What I like about this Kent Park was it really had clean air, and I thought it was perfect to have a camping. The good thing about this park was there was not very many people around so I could enjoy my barbecue really private with my friends. However there was a bad thing about this park. It was really far away from the UCC in University of Iowa. For all I think, we really enjoyed our barbecue at Kent Park.
