First Post!

Welcome to our blog! This blog will be a place for the University of Iowa's students to discuss their adventures in Iowa City as well as a place for them to practice writing in a variety of styles. For this first blog post, Jane and I will be presenting High Ground Coffee! This coffee shop is on the corner of Market and Linn Streets.  You can see our Google My Map with all the places we are visiting or will visit by clicking here:

WHAT TO GET AT HIGH GROUND!

a review by Jane
My favorite things, and therefore I think the best things to get at the High Ground Cafe are the Cold Press coffee and the homemade coffee cake.  The Cold Press coffee tastes great and has extra caffeine to keep you wired! I love iced coffee, especially when it is SO HOT outside, like this week.  At some places, though, iced coffee has a weird sour taste--kind of like feet.  Not at the High Ground! Their iced coffee is not just hot coffee poured over ice, so the taste is delicious and smooth.  I highly recommend getting a slice of the coffee cake to go with your iced coffee.  The coffee cake is sweet and moist because it is drenched in sugary syrup!!  It is so wonderful and tastes like cinnamon!  I think I'm going to go get another slice right now...
