Last Friday we went to Social Club( which was highly recommended by Toshi and Eugene).  First, when we entered the restaurant, a very nice and pretty waitress led the way to the table near the window and then bring three menus for us. Since it is actually a bar, 70 percent of  the menu is alcohol beverage and they only serve half of their food menu before 6 PM. The menu contains lots of strange vocabularies that we don't understand. Therefore, it took us a while to check the words in the dictionary. Finally, with the help of dedicated waitress and omnipotent iPhone, we successfully ordered the dishes except mine which is unbelievably terrible. Anyway I find that  it is rather tricky to giving tips and ordering the right courses

Last week, Bonny Sanya and I went to the clinton street social club to have dinner. The door was so small that, as if hid in between the stores. The club was opened at 4:30 pm, we are the only customers when it started. After, skipped plenty pages of alcohal drinks, we reached food category at the last page of the menu. The waitress is nice and sweet, as we spent ten minutes to choose foods; also, when we tried to choose the big plate food, but were informed that the big plate served at 5 pm, She helped us ask the chef to cook it before 5. Everything is perfect. However, the food a little bit disappointed us. It did taste good, not that good. Meanwhile, the dusky environment made me to feel which was a good place to drink and enjoy times, rather than to eat whithout drink. In all, some food there really tasty and most of them did not taste sweet or no flavor, it indeed fit in the Asian flavors.

This Friday, I came to the SHORT’S BURGER&SHINE with my group. Actually, I passed the restaurant a few times, and I thought it was just a bar. The light in the restaurant was dark and the decoration was old, the restaurant was small and crowded, we were lucky because there were only one table left. We asked the waiter for some advises when we started order some foods. I picked the no.17, it’s made by beef, French fries, and French onion. What I have to say is that the burgers were very delicious, and we fully enjoyed the time in the restaurant. In China, only Mc Donald and KFC sell burger, the decorations are simple. People only eat burger when they are in a hurry, but it’s different in the SHORT’S. People stay with their family and talk about some funny things. All of them enjoy the Friday’s afternoon. The burgers in SHORT’S are big and it’s double size than that of China. I even can’t finish it! The only thing I feel confused is about the menu. The menu doesn’t have many explains about the food, and I feel hard to choose what I want to eat. I would like to go to the SHORT’S again because the waiter give me many advices, and I want try something different.

       Today, I go to SHORT’S BURGER&SHINE with my group member.  It is not difficult to find it, because it is close to UCC. Overall, this restaurant is a good place to enjoy Hamburg and other drink. There also have fantastic environment. How to order foods is an important part in this restaurant, so I am going to introduce this part.
       When you entrance the restaurant, the waiter will ask you the number of people, so they can help you finding the best seats. After that, waiter will give you some menus, which can help you finding your favorite foods. There are some difference in ordering foods between this restaurant and other restaurant. You cannot choose your taste such as peppery and sweet, because there are three kinds of apothecary jar in your table. So, you can choose any taste you want when the food finish. After making a decision, you can call the waiter and tell her your choice. Finally you just need wait for the delicious food.
       In conclusion, ordering food is not too difficult, while this process can help you enjoying the best food in this restaurant.

Last Friday  , we went to  SHORT’S BURGER&SHINE with my group number, which was located on the N Clinton st. this building is old, when we came in , I saw the decoration was not really luxury , but it was exquisite . The light was really dark, I thought it can make the food looks delicate. The waitress also friendly, which made me feel comfortable.
There were over 20 more burger to choose. We all ordered the burgers. My first impression of those burgers are huge. I ordered the cheese burger and French fries which were really delicious. The most amazing thing was the coke was free to add. I drunk it a lot. However, the meal was not cheap, I paid 14 dollars.
 In conclusion, this restaurant is really good for having a party with friend on Friday night .the foods of there are good quality, and huge amount.  We can choose whatever burgers we like. Also, it cost a lot.

Oasis Falafel

Last Friday I had a plan to have lunch in one of my favorite restaurant with my friends. We went together after  last class, and I told my friends that I know the direction to go there, so we don’t need to use google map. In fact, if they used google map, they are going to save more time:). After we show up in Oasis, my friends were really excited to try kind of Arab food. The restraint is small, and the design is not creative. They wrote a menu in a wall, so we stand up in front of the menu, and we tried to define some of the dishes. After a while, the man who works in restaurant helped us to clarify the menu. Everybody chose two dishes,  then we shared them among us. I was eager for their opinion about Arab food. I was very glad hearing  from them that food was delicious. Finally, we spent a good time together.

This Friday , my group and I went to the restaurant is called Oasis which is a nice restaurant. They offer a lot of Middle Eastern food, such as Falafel , Hummus or Madjadra. Actually, this is my first time to try these food,so i’m really excited about to go to the Oasis. When we went in there, the restaurant is not big , but you can feel their atmosphere is different from other restaurant. Moreover, there are a lot of people coming and going, almost the restaurant is no vacancies, so you can see how a nice restaurant which people want to come.  Because of the menu is show a lot of Middle Eastern food which I have never seen before, so my group spend some time to figure out also the clerk who is friendly and explained the menu to us , however, I think the restaurant need to show some picture on the menu because it is easy to know what kind of food should people want to try or understand what the food looks like. After that, our food was coming, all of my group are order different dish and we share together. The most delicious food I think is falafel which is a deep fried ball, and it’s a traditional Middle Eastern food. In addition , the hummus also good which looks like a cream. All of my group love falafel and hummus. Next time I will come back again because I'm fall in love with the falafel.

November 6 Friday, we went to the Arabic restaurant whose name is Oasis. After finish our communication class, we leave togather. It took around 10 minutes from Old Capital, and The restaurant is next to the Hamburger Inn No1, which is famous restaurant for pancake. The entrance is a little difficult to find because the shop is not so big. After we enter the restaurant, There are hunged big blackboard which is written a lot of menus. Most of menu are written by Arabic, so it was difficult to understand. However, there are some information of the menu where is the left side of the blackboard. After we decided the menu, we ordered at the check counter and go to find the seats. The table which is for two people are around 18th. The shop assistant bring to us after they cooked. In additon there are some free salad and many kinds of sauce which is good. We have to throw out the garbage after we finish, then we can leave. The restarant was very convenient, and you can ask for shop assistant easily if you have any quwstion, so please try it.

Last Friday, me, Bayan, Toshi and Eugene went to Oasis Falafel to have lunch. I order half falafel. Falafel is a ball shaped food that contains vegetables and spices that mixed together. It is eaten together with a wrap and dip with some mango sauce or tomato sauce. Compared to a meatball, I think Falafel is more delicious because their sauce is unique. The restaurant is a bit small compare to others restaurant at Iowa City, but the atmosphere is good. It's a good place to relax during the lunch hour. On the menu board, wee have a hard time to decide what we want to eat because the food name is mostly Arabic. The amount of food is quite a lot. We eat and share each others food until full. 

Atlas Restaurant & Bar

On Tuesday during the lunch break, my group and I went to Atlas Restaurant & Bar. It was not far from our building, so it take about six minutes to be there. We smelled the food as soon as we arrived there.it was really good. Also the decoration for the restaurant is amazing. It is very clean and organized. The waitress give us a table for four people. Then, we made our order. Tallis and I ordered the same thing which is Buffalo Chicken Burrito, and Elbert ordered Thai Chicken Burrito. Also Yu ordered Thai Chicken Satay Salad. While we were waiting for our food to be ready, I took a look around the restaurant. The restaurant was not crowded, so that make think that the food may not that good. When the food were served and I started to eat, I changed my idea because I was really delicious.

Today, we went to the restaurant we chose last week, the name is Atlas Grill& Bar and if you ask me whether they make delicious food I will tell you that I do not know. Because I think I order a wrong food, the Tai burrito, at least to me. First, after you seat, waiter will give you a menu to let you choose what you want to eat. Than what you need to do is look it carefully and do not just pick one easily just like I did today. Maybe you want to order something to drink, it is ok there of course. Than you just wait for a moment, waiter will give what you ordered before. I have to say that the material in this burrito is fresh and healthy, but I am not used to that taste actually. Yu’s choice is better than mine, so you can ask her what the name of the food she chose is. At last, after you feel full, you just ask the waiter to check. REMEMBER, discover credit card can not be used in this restaurant. Hope everyone eats there has a great time.

This week we go to the restaurant which named Atlas Grill&Bar. It’s an American food restaurant and the menu very easy and clear to understand. The waiters in there is friendly and kind. We ordered three burritos and one salad. I like salad very much so I ordered the Thai flavor salad, it tastes pretty good. Vegetables are not only fresh but also crispy and chicken on the top is tender. This salad is big size and it with a special sauce that tastes like peanut and curry. The price of the food is average not too high. I will try another salad next time!

This time our group went to the restaurant named Atlas grill&bar. It's pretty beautiful both outside and inside. The blue and white wall make it seems located beside the sea. The environment is quite cozy. After we went in, we ordered the food we want. I picked the chicken burrito. The chicken in it is delicious. And there is something I don’t know the name in that burrito are yummy too. Waitress in the restaurant are very nice and lovely. I think it’s a good place to hang out with friends next time.

Takanami restaurant

Yesterday, I went with my classmates to Takanami restaurant at 5 p.m. It was in Iowa Ave in downtown, so it was easy to find. The restaurant was so beautiful, quiet, and clean. We have chosen this restaurant to eat sushi. The menu was so complicated, and I couldn't understand anything. Therefore, I let Aurora choose for me. The sushi and the other dishes we ordered were so delicious. The sushi was one of the best I ever eat. We enjoyed our dinner and talked about different topics. It was a lovely dinner!

         Today we have been Takamani restaurant for supper. I have been there at 4:55 P.M and the restaurant is not open until 5, so we have to wait for 5 minute. The decoration of the restaurant is not similar with the sushi restaurant in China, and you can’t tell it is a Japanese restaurant if only look from outside. The other thing surprises me that they don’t have a conveyer which you can found in almost every sushi restaurant in China. We have ordered several different sushis, and it taste awesome, not much different which what I have in China expect for I have a hard time to understand the Menu…..

    Today, our group went to Takanami that is a good place to eat Japanese food. I ate it before several times with my friends. The food is delicious and the environment is good. When we arrived, we waited near the door, then the waiter who brought the menu led us to the table. First, we ordered the water. After few minutes, we decided what we want to eat. Second, we ordered PHO, Eel rice and some sushi. We were waiting dinner while we were talking about Thanksgiving. After about 15 minutes, all of our dinner was ready. The waiter helped us to take a picture. Finally, we shared our dinner together. I had a good time with our group. It is also a good place for date, especially for Jisoo.

   Today, Our group went to the Takanami restaurant at 5 p.m. It was my first time go there, it really impressed me. The restaurant inside are beautiful, quiet, and the waiters there are very nice. Compare to the sushi restaurant in China, I have to say both of them have their own advantages. Chinese sushi restaurant menu has really clear description, also with the picture to make sure you understand what the meal is. But for the Takanami's, our group really have a hard time to understand the menu, because it only have the name of the sushi, so its hard for us to know what does it look like. Last, Takanami has some really nice cooked sushi that I have never eaten before, compare to Chinese Sushi restaurant, they only have the raw sushi that need to eat with mustard. Takanami is really a good place to eat if you never try cooked sushi before, and also you can bring your friends or date here.

We go to the Panchero’s after today’s class. The restaurant mainly offers burrito and taco which are traditional Mexican dish consisting of a fried tortilla, typically folded, filled with various mixtures, such as seasoned meat, beans, lettuce, and tomatoes. I have been to this restaurant before with my friends and it left a good impression to me. Hence, this time when we decided to go to this restaurant, I felt expectantly. The price in the restaurant is very cheap and you can enjoy a delicious food with a low price. From my perspective, it is a good place for me to have lunch. You can choose what you want and make it into burrito, taco or salad. I sometimes feel the lunch in Burge is too simple, so I will choose to have lunch at Panchero’s more in the future.

Today my classmates and I went to the Panchero’s, where is a place to eat Mexican food. When we got the restaurant, there were not too many people. I think it is a good place to have lunch. When I go to order the burrito, there are some boxes of food, such as rice, beef, chicken, tofu, cheese and some vegetables. You can choose whatever you want. When you finish your ordering, the burrito will be rolled together, and it will be put on a plate. Then it is your time to pay for it. I have to say, it is not expensive for lunch. Even if it is just a roll, it is big enough. If you want something to drink, you can order some water or juice. If you are the person, who don’t have enough time to eat for lunch, it is a good choice for you to eat here, because it is not for far away, and just near the Old Capital. I really recommend you to come here to have lunch. I hope you will have a good lunch time there.

Our group members went to Pancheros to eat on November 3rd, 2015. I liked the place because it was pretty clean and the table and chairs were big enough for four people to sit together. Pancheros was a good restaurant because I could pick what I like inside and the food came out really fast. However there were also some bad things about this restaurant. The price of the food was pretty expensive and there were some toppings that they will add a dollar each and the worker doesn’t tell customers that it will cost a dollar more. It was pretty high price for a burritos. For all, we had a delicious meal and enjoyed our meal time together.

On Tuesday November 3rd 2015, I went to Pancheros Mexican Grill with my friends for lunch. It is famed for offering burrito that is one of famous Mexican food. The place was good. We had a delicious burrito. In fact, this is not the first time for me to eat Mexican food. I have eaten it in my country Saudi Arabia in a restaurant called Cancun Mexican Grill. However, it is not like Pancheros. There are some differences between them. Cancun serves several kinds of burgers that prepare according to the Mexican method while Pancheros does not serve burgers at all. For burrito, Pancheros used a fresh tortilla that will be prepared at the same time of your order in contrast Cancun used a tortilla that prepared before and packed. Also, Pancheros used different types of souses than what Cancun used. I think this is the secret that makes Pancheros’ burrito more delicious than Cancun’s burrito.

Last Saturday, we went to Mana's Deli. We cannot see any information from this name. However, when we arrived there, it locates near Subway in downtown and it is an American fast food. There are not lots of people, but everyone ordered soup. It looks strange and interesting because I prefer order a drink rather than soup. However, after tasting that, I knew the reason. I ordered that is called BBQ. I like this kind of sauce. However, it is different from what exist in my mind. It tasted dried and sweet. Actually, I do not like sweet food. That is why people ordered soup， which can neutralize the taste. Anyway, I still feel happy that I can have lunch with my teammates together.

    Before some days, our group went to Mana's Deli which has many kind of food. I did not ate it before, but I think it is like Subway that I ate it several times. The food is not bad, but the environment is clean. When we arrived, we decided when we need to sit then we ordered our food which were sandwich. After a few minutes, the waiter gave everyone what was ordered. In addition, Vicky and I did not know how to eat our sandwich because we cannot eat the sandwich by knif  frouk and spon. When  were eating the lunch while we were talking about the taste. Finally, we enjoyed to eat lunch together. We had a good time together. However, I think it is a good place to eat brackfast not lunch.

This week, we went to the Mama's Deli that is a west restaurant. The decoration of this restaurant was very beautiful. The table was not so big, but it is enough to contain four people. Especially I liked the color of table best because it could create a warm atmosphere. I did not know how to order, and I did not know which food tastes the best, so I asked waitress to recommend me some delicious food. She advised me to order a sandwich. I ordered it, but I did not get used to eat this kind of sandwich because I did not like cheese. I thought I will order something food that fit me. May be my taste was different from others. However, I liked this restaurant’s atmosphere that was warm and quiet. Compared with china’s restaurant, as you know, Chinese food was very famous. I liked the hot pot restaurant best. I remember Chinese restaurant has many people every time I went there, and I have to stand in a long queue, which wastes me a long time to wait because that restaurant is very famous in China. It is too noisy and crowd, but this restaurant that we chose in this week was quiet in America, and I do not worry about too many people or too much noises.

       We decided to go to the Mama’s Deli after Friday’s classes because it is a appropriate time for lunch. We used Google map to lead us to the right place, which was located on the side of Washington Street. It looks pretty cute, especially the navy blue wall, which make people feel relax to have meals in this restaurant. We entered and ordered for food. The waitresses were nice and patient. We all ordered some sandwiches and some salad rolls. (I ordered a tuna salad.) The foods were offered quickly. Even though it was a little too sweat, I enjoyed my tuna salad very much. The environment was quiet and relaxing, which could be a very nice place for people to chat or just have a rest.
